On October 10, Peacock will release the first two episodes of its newest horror series, “Teacup.” The show, which stars Yvonne Strahovski (“Chuck”, “The Handmaid’s Tale”) and Scott Speedman (“Animal Kingdom”, “Grey’s Anatomy”), tells a tense and eerie story on a secluded farm in rural Georgia, where a family must face a mysterious threat while also dealing with personal crises that predate the events of the premiere episode.

Although it’s going by a different name on television, some readers might recognize certain aspects of the show’s plot from Robert McCammon’s 1988 novel “Stinger.” However, very few elements beyond the central premise of the show will copy over into the live-action version. In fact, “Teacup” showrunner Ian McCulloch describes his adaptation as a stripped-down, “acoustic” version of that story, trading the novel’s grandiose plot for a more personal and tense psychological thriller.

To learn a bit more about the emotional core at the heart of the series, SpoilerTV spoke with actors Scott Speedman and Chaske Spencer (“The Twilight Saga”, “Echo”) during San Diego Comic-Con. Speedman portrays James Chenoweth, husband to Strahovski’s Maggie, while Spencer plays Ruben Shanley, a family friend who finds himself at odds with Speedman’s character. Watch below for more details.

After the two-episode premiere on October 10, Peacock will release two “Teacup” episodes a week until the finale on October 31.
