Sony has finally launched the PlayStation Portal in India, about nine months after its launch in the US. If you think that’s late, it’s pretty much par for the course for Sony India as it always launches all PlayStation products late in the region.

Sony PlayStation Portal launched in India

The PlayStation Portal is a handheld remote player for the PlayStation 5 console. It lets you wirelessly stream your installed PS5 and PS4 games from your console over your home Wi-Fi network onto the device. You can, for example, be in your bedroom and playing on your PS5 that’s in the living room through the Portal, while someone else is using the TV.

The Portal is essentially a DualSense controller with a display stuck in the middle. It has the exact same features and functionality as the DualSense, including the haptics and adaptive triggers. The display in the middle is an 8-inch, 60Hz 1080p IPS LCD. The display is also a touchscreen and can emulate the DualSense touchpad.
