Samsung teased the Galaxy Ring back in January at the Unpacked event where it unveiled the Galaxy S24 family, and then sort of announced it at MWC in Barcelona in February, and we’ve been expecting a proper introduction to finally come in July at the next Unpacked event where the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 should be outed.

In the meantime, the Galaxy Ring was revealed to come with Samsung Food support, and now it’s appeared in Samsung’s stock Battery Widget, as you can see in the screenshot below.

Once you add this widget to the home screen of your Samsung smartphone, go to its Settings menu and you should be presented with the options you can see above. Along with the Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Fit, and Galaxy Buds, the ring is very much present, signifying that Samsung is busy getting ready for its launch.

Of course we can’t ascertain based on this information how long we’ll still have to wait, but we’d wager that it will appear at the July Unpacked event at the latest, if not sooner.

The Galaxy Ring is said to be very light (although no one outside of Samsung has touched it yet), and it will come in many sizes and color finishes. As you’d expect, it has a heart rate sensor and will offer sleep tracking. It should last at least a few days on one charge since there’s no hungry screen to quickly deplete all that juice, and could be more comfortable to wear than a smartwatch, especially while sleeping. It’s also been rumored to support NFC payments.
