Meizu will launch a new smartphone on February 29, the Geely-owned company confirmed just seven days after it announced it is quitting the smartphone business. The new device will be called Meizu 21 Pro and will have a 6.79” screen, according to the first promo image posted on Weibo.
The 21 Pro should be Meizu’s swan song in the smartphone business, according to the company CEO. The event on Thursday is said to be a historic one, as it would officially mark the transition from mobile phones to AI.
Currently, very little information is available about this device. The CEO has stated that it will include “advanced AI concepts that are superior to those found in the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Huawei Pocket 2,” but it is unclear what those include.
We are wondering what kind of support the Meizu 21 Pro will get, since the CEO said the FlymeOS team will be restructured and will start developing AI terminals for globally available LLMs such as Open AI.
