A simple, browser-based game could help.<\/p>\n<p>What is Bad News? <a href=\"https:\/\/getbadnews.com\/#intro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bad News<\/a> is a simple tool to help students understand \u2018fake news,\u2019 the (modern?) phenomenon of misinformation and \u2018content as news\u2019 propagated, at least in part, by the rise of digital and social media.<\/p>\n<p>(You can <a href=\"https:\/\/getbadnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Bad-News-Game-info-sheet-for-educators-English.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">download an info sheet<\/a> about made for educators.)<\/p>\n<p>As an interactive experience, Bad News helps students understand how fake news works, why it becomes popular, and its central mechanics and trends. And fake news and social media are maybe just a microcosm.<\/p>\n<p>The game is simple enough that you don\u2019t need instructions and if players make a mistake, it\u2019s short enough to just start over.
