I am a supporter of Bitcoin. I am late to the party but a supporter. I think Bitcoin is on the verge of getting broad acceptance by conventional finance people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Within months, however, Musk reversed course, citing environmental concerns about Bitcoin mining\u2019s heavy reliance on fossil fuels.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTesla has suspended vehicle purchases using Bitcoin,\u201d he said at the time, adding that payments would resume once mining used \u201cmore sustainable energy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In mid-2022, Tesla <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/business\/breaking-elon-musks-tesla-sold-75-of-its-bitcoin\">sold<\/a> roughly 75% of its Bitcoin holdings \u2014 near the bottom of the market\u2019s decline \u2014 while maintaining a remaining stash of about 11,509 BTC, currently worth an estimated $1.29 billion, according to CoinGecko data.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Tesla sold the bulk of their holdings at an average price of roughly $29,000.
