Mubi<\/a> has unveiled the first teaser trailer for the new Jim Jarmusch<\/a> film Father Mother Sister Brother<\/em><\/a>. The clip features a lot of Tom Waits<\/a>, who stars alongside Adam Driver, Mayim Bialik, Cate Blanchett, Vicky Krieps, Luka Sabbat, and others. It premieres<\/a> this Sunday, August 31, at the Venice Film Festival.<\/p>\n Father Mother Sister Brother<\/em> is writer and director Jim Jarmusch\u2019s feature film since 2019\u2019s The Dead Don\u2019t Die<\/em><\/a>. The new movie, according to a press release, is \u201ccarefully constructed in the form of a triptych. The three stories all concern the relationships between adult children, their somewhat distant parent (or parents), and each other. Each of the three chapters takes place in the present, and each in a different country.\u201d<\/p>\n Tom Waits has a long collaborative history with Jim Jarmusch, dating back to 1986\u2019s Down by Law<\/em>. He\u2019s since appeared in 2003\u2019s Coffee and Cigarettes<\/em> and The Dead Don\u2019t Die<\/em>, while also doing the soundtrack for 1991\u2019s Night on Earth<\/em>.<\/p>\n
