Further investigations are still ongoing, and we will track down any accomplices who made the chip exchange,\u201d said Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lee is thought to be a former employee of a third-party \u2018junket company\u2019 that organizes excursions for individuals and officials to Genting Highlands.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The organized raid took place on August 2, after Lee removed the chips from a closed casino room at the prominent Resorts World Genting venue.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A serving junket company official then raised the alarm with the police, who believe the scene had been deliberately staked out before the theft was carried out. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As we previously reported, <a href=\"https:\/\/readwrite.com\/gambling-syndicates-malaysia-exploit-sim-cards-social-media\/\">gambling syndicates<\/a> in the country are reportedly having no trouble getting hold of SIM cards that are registered under other people\u2019s names, especially those belonging to foreigners.
