It\u2019s a\u00a0dull, eye-roll-induc\u00ading half-way house of a\u00a0film, nei\u00adther a\u00a0bit\u00ading, black com\u00ade\u00addy nor an uplift\u00ading, whim\u00adsi\u00adcal jaunt. British com\u00ade\u00addy roy\u00adal\u00adty Gra\u00adham Fel\u00adlows stars as Kev, who teams up with teenagers, Paula (Amelie Davies) and Jayce (Ethaniel Davy) to sell the weed he\u2019s acci\u00adden\u00adtal\u00adly grown in his allot\u00adment. The few sin\u00adcere inter\u00adac\u00adtions between this cen\u00adtral trio are the sole high\u00adlights of the film, as Fel\u00adlows\u2019 com\u00ade\u00addy tal\u00adents are wast\u00aded in a\u00a0flim\u00adsy script.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><i>Chick\u00aden Town<\/i><span> bites off more than it can chew as a\u00a0small-town, crime caper quick\u00adly spi\u00adrals into con\u00adflict with the pow\u00ader\u00adful fam\u00adi\u00adly at the heart of the town\u2019s liveli\u00adhood and a\u00a0seri\u00adous of increas\u00ading\u00adly ridicu\u00adlous acts of vio\u00adlence. How\u00adev\u00ader, instead of pour\u00ading effort into pro\u00advid\u00ading any stand\u00adout, laugh-out-loud gags, the writer\/\u200bdirector over\u00adly relies on these sud\u00adden but brief moments of inten\u00adsi\u00adty to liv\u00aden up his film. The less said about the racial prej\u00adu\u00addice lev\u00adelled at Jayce\u2019s friend, Lee Matthews Jr (Ramy Ben Fredj), the bet\u00adter. It\u2019s taste\u00adless, cru\u00adel, and painful\u00adly lazy.
