It read, \u201cThis morning, at the end of the audiences, Pope Francis will be admitted to the Agostino Gemelli Polyclinic for some necessary diagnostic tests and to continue in a hospital setting treatment for bronchitis that is still ongoing.\u201d<\/p>\n Hours before he was brought to the hospital, Francis still held audiences at the Vatican. His recent ailment has caused concern among supporters and those in the Vatican.<\/p>\n On February 17, 2025, the Vatican provided an update on Pope Francis\u2019 health, revealing that he is battling a polymicrobial infection of the respiratory tract. As a result, he needed to remain in the hospital for an \u201cappropriate\u201d amount of time. The pope\u2019s treatment plan will include a change in drug therapy.
