The \u201cNot Like Us\u201d hitmaker brought the retired tennis player out as a backup dancer, promoting fans to speculate about her former relationship<\/a> with the \u201cGod\u2019s Plan\u201d artist. So, when exactly did Serena and Drake date, and more importantly, when did they break up?<\/p>\n

The timeline of Serena and Drake\u2019s relationship is unclear. However, multiple outlets reported that their relationship began sometime in 2011.<\/p>\n

Serena and Drake\u2019s relationship fizzled out by 2015, according to multiple outlets. That year, a source told Hollywood Life<\/strong><\/a> that the \u201cHotline Bling\u201d artist and the retired tennis pro had \u201cbeen on a slow burn for a few months now.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey have known each other for years, and there has always been a spark, but the timing was off,\u201d the insider added. \u201cDrake was always saying to her, \u2018When are we going out?\u2019 Serena never seriously thought Drake was interested in her like that though.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though neither of them confirmed this, Drake released his song \u201cToo Good\u201d in 2016, which he claimed was inspired by his relationship with Serena, according to an X video<\/a> from a past studio session.<\/p>\n

In a video <\/a>that emerged in 2024, Drake talked about his single \u201cToo Good\u201d in a studio, which he admitted was \u201cmore about [him] and Serena.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s funny because when I make songs about women, I also make songs for them,\u201d he explained. \u201cSo, I know what kind of song to make. If I\u2019m gonna talk about them, I\u2019ll at least do them the justice of making them a song that they like. So, I know Serena very well, and I know that she\u2019ll hear it loud and clear, but she\u2019ll also not hate me for it because it\u2019s lighthearted.\u201d<\/p>\n
