Black Sabbath<\/strong> is credited with being nothing short of pioneers in the metal movement. Now, they\u2019re ready to hang up their guitars and take their places in the glam pantheon of rock history with a final show. For the first time in nearly twenty years, legendary frontman Ozzy Osbourne <\/strong><\/a>will take the stage, along with bassist Geezer Butler<\/strong>, drummer Bill Ward<\/strong>, and guitarist Tony Iommi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s my time to go \u2018Back To The Beginning\u2019\u2026 time for me to give back to the place where I was born,\u201d Ozzy said in a statement, per Billboard.<\/em> <\/a>\u201cHow blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever.\u201d\u00a0Added music director Tom Morello<\/strong> in a statement via Instagram<\/a>, \u201cThis will be the greatest heavy metal show ever.\u201d<\/p>\n

The term \u201cheavy metal,\u201d incidentally, didn\u2019t come from Black Sabbath.\u00a0\u201cWe called it heavy rock,\u201d Tony told BBC News<\/em><\/a> in a 2017 interview. \u201cThe term heavy metal came about from a journalist when I came back from America (in the 1970s). \u201cHe said \u2018you\u2019re playing heavy metal\u2019 and I said \u2018no, it\u2019s heavy rock \u2013 what\u2019s that?’\u201d<\/p>\n

The all-day event will take place on July 5, 2025, at Villa Park in Birmingham, England \u2014 the band\u2019s hometown.<\/p>\n

Who Else is Performing with Black Sabbath in Villa Park?<\/h2>\n

The farewell celebration will amount to a festival of some of metal\u2019s most iconic bands. Along with Black Sabbath, fans will see sets from Metallica<\/strong>, Alice in Chains<\/strong>, Anthrax<\/strong>, Mastodon<\/strong>, Slayer<\/strong>, Gojira<\/strong>, Pantera<\/strong>, Lamb of God<\/strong>, and Halestorm<\/strong>. Artists including Billy Corgan<\/strong>, Slash<\/strong><\/a>, Tom Morello<\/strong>, Wolfgang Van Halen<\/strong><\/a>, Sammy Hagar<\/strong>, Fred Durst<\/strong>, Jake E. Lee, and more will also join the lineup. And that\u2019s just the beginning \u2014 according to the band\u2019s Instagram announcement, \u201cmore names will be announced shortly.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Do Black Sabbath Tickets Go on Sale?<\/h2>\n

Ticket sales will open up at 10 AM GMT (Greenwich Time) on Friday, February 14, 2025.\u00a0All profits from the massive day-long rock event will go to Cure Parkinsons, Acorn Children\u2019s Hospice, and Birmingham Children\u2019s Hospital.<\/p>\n
