I felt so ill-equipped,\u201d Olivia responded. \u201cThat was an overwhelming experience, but now I definitely feel a responsibility. I just try not to think about it during the writing process.\u201d<\/p>\n While the songs on her sophomore record don\u2019t directly mention any past beaus, songs like \u201cBad Idea Right?\u201d and \u201cGet Him Back!\u201d are seemingly inspired by past romances. The former punk-pop hit details getting back together with an ex-boyfriend, despite it being, well, a bad idea. The latter is an alt-rock anthem about trying to make a less-than-favorable ex jealous. \u201cDo I love him? Do I hate him? I guess it\u2019s up and down,\u201d Olivia raps on the track.<\/p>\n Fans have theorized that \u201cVampire\u201d may be inspired by one of the men that Olivia dated since the release of Sour. <\/em>One line in particular points to the song\u2019s subject being older than Olivia herself. \u201cWent for me, not for her, \u2019cause girls your age know better,\u201d Olivia sings in the second verse. Both Zack and Adam are older than her. Another lyric \u2014 \u201cYou only come out at night\u201d \u2014 appears to point to Zack, who works as a DJ and often has gigs in the nighttime. She also references a timeline of \u201csix months\u201d in the lyrics \u2014 \u201cSix months of torture\u201d \u2014 which is about how long she was publicly linked to Zack (February until August 2022). Her relationship with Adam, meanwhile, lasted about seven months.<\/p>\n It\u2019s probably safe to say that one person whom \u201cVampire\u201d is NOT about, though, is Olivia\u2019s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series<\/em> co-star,\u00a0Joshua Bassett<\/strong>. Olivia has already done her fair share of penning lyrics about Josh, as it\u2019s been speculated that most of\u00a0SOUR<\/em><\/a> was about him and their breakup.
