Unk<\/a>, the Atlanta rapper known for the hits \u201cWalk It Out\u201d and \u201c2 Step,\u201d has died, according to social media posts from his wife, Sherkita Long-Platt<\/a>, and one of his former labels, Big Oomp Records<\/a>. A cause of death was not provided. Unk was 43 years old.<\/p>\n Unk, or DJ Unk, was born Anthony Leonard Platt in Atlanta, Georgia. He broke out, in the early 2000s, as part of his city\u2019s snap music scene. His first hit, \u201cWalk It Out<\/a>,\u201d stood alongside other totemic snap and crunk tracks like \u201cCrank That (Soulja Boy),\u201d Lil Jon\u2019s \u201cGet Low,\u201d Yung Joc\u2019s \u201cIt\u2019s Goin\u2019 Down,\u201d and D4L\u2019s \u201cLaffy Taffy.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWalk It Out\u201d and follow-up single \u201c2 Step<\/a>\u201d both featured on Unk\u2019s debut album, 2006\u2019s Beat\u2019n Down Yo Block!<\/em> Both tracks got all-star remixes, too, with Jim Jones and Outkast\u2019s Andr\u00e9 3000 and Big Boi hopping on \u201cWalk It Out (Remix)<\/a>,\u201d and Jones, T-Pain, and E-40 featuring on \u201c2 Step (Remix)<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n Unk released just one more major album in his lifetime, 2008\u2019s 2econd Season<\/em>. Project Pat, Ray J, Ying Yang Twins, Sean Kingston, and more featured on the album, and it performed well commercially.
