The 6-foot-3 guard revealed this in an interview shared on Overtime\u2019s Instagram page on Jan 20, 2025.<\/p>\n<p><template id=\"also-read-articles-template\"><\/p>\n<p><\/template><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cTransferring into Sierra Canyon was super trippy. Just being the new kid on the block for the first time and not really knowing anyone, Bailey said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI was a fish out of water having gone from Chicago to being in the valley. Culture shock, a lot of adjustments. That was a transition and actually getting there and being able to just have the platform to be myself.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI think that was the biggest thing that I enjoyed about Sierra, Bailey added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><strong>Amari Bailey at Sierra Canyon<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Despite feeling out of place in his early days at Sierra Canyon, Bailye would eventually go on to achieve big things at the school.<\/p>\n<p>The Iowa Wolves star helped the team win the Open Division State Title by the California Interscholastic Federation in his freshman year, scoring nine points, three rebounds and four assists in the championship game against Sheldon.<\/p>\n<p>At Sierra Canyon, Amari Bailey was a 4-year varsity basketball letterman which is awarded to athletes who achieve a certain standard or participation in a sport.<\/p>\n<p>In his Sophomore year, Bailey averaged 15.6 points per game before going on to average 29.2 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game in his junior year.<\/p>\n<p>His performance in his Junior year earned him California Mr. Basketball, the MaxPreps.com California Player of the Year, Los Angeles Daily News All-Area Player of the Year, and Gold Coast League MVP.<\/p>\n<p>As a senior in the 2021-2022 season, Bailey was a McDonald&#8217;s All-American.
