She is being remembered by her loved ones.\u00a0<\/span>According to <\/span>The Guardian<\/span><\/a><\/em>, her family released a statement that read, \u201c<\/span>It is with great sadness that the family of Dame Joan Plowright, the Lady Olivier, inform you that she passed away peacefully on 16 January 2025 surrounded by her family at Denville Hall aged 95.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>The statement continued, \u201c<\/span>She enjoyed a long and illustrious career across theatre, film and TV over seven decades until blindness made her retire.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

It concluded, \u201c<\/span>She cherished her last 10 years in Sussex with constant visits from friends and family, filled with much laughter and fond memories. The family are deeply grateful to Jean Wilson and all those involved in her personal care over many years.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

She had a deep passion for the stage. In a 2010 interview with The Actor\u2019s Work<\/span><\/a><\/span>, she reflected on her career, saying,\u201d<\/span>I\u2019ve been very privileged to have such a life.\u201d The late actress added, \u201cI mean it\u2019s magic and I still feel, when a curtain goes up or the lights come on if there\u2019s no curtain, the magic of a beginning of what is going to unfold in front of me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
