If you thought Robert De Niro<\/strong><\/a> was done playing mob roles, you were wrong. The Academy Award<\/a> winning actor, who previously appeared in The Godfather II<\/em>, Taxi Driver<\/em>, Cape Fear<\/em>, The Irishman<\/em>, and Goodfellas<\/em>, among many others, plays not one, but two mob bosses going head-to-head in biographical crime drama The Alto Knights<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em>If that weren\u2019t enough to convince potential viewers, it\u2019s also directed by Academy Award winning director Barry Levinson<\/strong>, produced by Oscar winner Irwin Winkler<\/strong>, and written by Oscar nominee Nicholas Pileggi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

What Is \u2018The Alto Knights\u2019 About?<\/h2>\n

The logline for the crime drama, found on Warner Bros official site<\/a>, reads, \u201cthe film follows two of New York\u2019s most notorious organized crime bosses, Frank Costello<\/strong>\u00a0(De Niro) and\u00a0Vito Genovese<\/strong>\u00a0(De Niro), as they vie for control of the city\u2019s streets. Once the best of friends, petty jealousies and a series of betrayals place them on a deadly collision course that will reshape the Mafia (and America) forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018The Alto Knights\u2019 Trailer<\/h2>\n

In the trailer, which you can view below, fans get a first look at De Niro vs De Niro as dueling mob bosses who used to be pals. In it, the Goodfellas<\/em> actor (as Genovese) warns himself, \u201cYou\u2019re going down a very dangerous road,\u201d to which Costello replies, \u201cand we ain\u2019t been down dangerous roads before?\u201d Costello, it seems, aims to be a good citizen who gives to charities and pays taxes, while Genovese is skeptical his old friend is legitimately now a part of the establishment. The intense scene, which takes place in a darkened restaurant booth, sets up the movie for an epic showdown between the two mob bosses that culminates in suspense and violence. \u201cYou can\u2019t have it both ways,\u201d Genovese tells Costello in the trailer. \u201cYou\u2019re either in or you\u2019re out.\u201d<\/p>\n
