Academy Award<\/a> winning actor Robert De Niro<\/strong><\/a> might be a new dad<\/a> again, but that doesn\u2019t mean he\u2019s gone soft. The Godfather Part II<\/em> actor, 81, stars in The<\/em> Alto Knights<\/em>, set for release this spring. <\/em>In the biographical crime drama, he takes on a wild challenge \u2014 dual roles in the same movie. And who wouldn\u2019t want to watch De Niro take on De Niro as a couple of disgruntled, feuding mob bosses?<\/p>\n

What Is \u2018The Alto Knights\u2019 About?<\/h2>\n

According to the official synopsis on Warner Bros official site<\/a>, the movie \u201cfollows two of New York\u2019s most notorious organized crime bosses, Frank Costello<\/strong> (De Niro) and Vito Genovese<\/strong> (De Niro), as they vie for control of the city\u2019s streets. Once the best of friends, petty jealousies and a series of betrayals place them on a deadly collision course that will reshape the Mafia (and America) forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

As mentioned above, De Niro played prominently in the legendary Godfather<\/em> franchise. He also starred in Goodfellas, Casino, The Untouchables<\/em>, and The Irishman<\/em>, so he\u2019s an icon in the genre. The name of the film, The Alto Knights<\/em>, refers to a club frequented by mob kingpins.<\/p>\n

Aside from De Niro, other cast members including Debra Messing<\/strong><\/a>, who plays the wife of Costello, Katherine Narducci<\/strong>, who plays the wife of Genovese, and Cosmo Jarvis<\/strong>, who plays yet another mob kingpin \u2014 one who is tasked with snuffing out Costello\u2019s life.<\/p>\n
