Kotb described experiencing a shift in perspective after turning 60 in August of 2024. She made the announcement that she\u2019d be leaving in September. According to TODAY<\/em>, she knew it was time to devote more energy<\/a> to raising her daughters, Haley<\/strong> and Hope<\/strong><\/a>, and her mother Sameha Kotb<\/strong>. \u201cMy broadcast career has been beyond meaningful, a new decade of my life lies ahead, and now my daughters and my mom need and deserve a bigger slice of my time pie,\u201d she said in a parting letter on the Today<\/em> site<\/a>. \u201cI will miss you all desperately, but I\u2019m ready and excited.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the news outlet, she was working as a correspondent for NBC News and Dateline NBC<\/em>\u00a0before taking over as a fourth hour host. According to a January appearance on\u00a0Kelly Clarkson<\/strong><\/a> \u2018s eponymous talk show, Kotb will be overseeing a wellness app and company<\/a>. \u201cI am starting a wellness app and company that will involve retreats and a podcast and all kinds of things that we can get together, do things that I love,\u201d she told Clarkson. \u201cIt\u2019s not like going to Mexico with your girls, which is fun, but this is something that when you leave, you\u2019ll go like, \u2018Oh my gosh. Who Is Replacing Hoda on the \u2018Today\u2019 Show?<\/h2>\n

Per the New York Post<\/em><\/a>, journalist Craig Melvin<\/strong> will be taking over for Kotb<\/a> on TODAY<\/em>. There will be a rotating panel of co-hosts filling in on Today With Hoda & Jenna<\/em> until a final casting decision has been made.<\/p>\n
