The Broadway star was acting from a young age. In fact, per NPR<\/em><\/a>, the ambitious talent competed on talent competition Star Search\u00a0<\/em>at age 15. \u201cAnd I lost!\u201d she told the outlet in a 2015 interview. \u201cI lost to this guy Richard Blake<\/strong>, who\u2019s now a Broadway performer. So now every time I see him I give him squinty eyes, \u2019cause he beat me by a quarter star.\u201d She also auditioned for the star-making Mickey Mouse Club\u00a0<\/em>and left high school before graduation to join a tour of The Will Rogers Follies<\/i>, per the New York Times<\/a>.<\/em> The rest, obviously, is history.<\/p>\n

According to Hello!<\/em> <\/a>The actress was married twice before her relationship with the Greatest Showman<\/em> star. Her first brief marriage, beginning in 2006, was to stage actor Christian Borle<\/strong>. They divorced in 2009. Though it wasn\u2019t meant to be, Christian once claimed they\u2019ve remained friends. \u201cAs life took its crazy winding turns and we ended up not being married anymore, it was always a priority for us to stay friends,\u201d he told Time Out<\/em> <\/a>in 2012.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
