The scrappy duo soon learns that a threat hangs over them, and they dutifully attempt to unravel the dark secrets that shroud the mysterious disappearance of four teens in the mid-1990s. Spooky? According to a TV Insider<\/em><\/a> interview, Schwimmer says it\u2019s \u201cgenuinely frightening.\u201d<\/p>\n

But according to the same group interview, the show isn\u2019t just about jump scares \u2014 it\u2019s also about the lives of teens. \u201cWe wanted to make sure that we were telling true-life teen stories,\u201d co-showrunner Hilary Winston<\/strong> told the outlet. \u201cSo the kids, even if they\u2019re running from monsters, they\u2019re still living their lives, falling in love, falling out of love, having issues with their exes. And we wanted to make sure that we kept that alive so that we always had the humor to balance out the horror.\u201d<\/p>\n
