Nikki Glaser<\/strong>, 40, is set to host the <\/span>2025 Golden Globes<\/a><\/span>\u00a0on <\/span>January 5, 2025<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>In a statement on the <\/span>Golden Globes<\/span> website<\/a>, she shared,\u00a0\u201cI am absolutely thrilled to be hosting the Golden Globes. It\u2019s one of my favorite nights of television and now I get a front row seat (actually, I think I have to host from the stage).\u201d The comedian is no stranger to television, previously competing on season 27 of Dancing With The Stars<\/em><\/a> \u2014 but there\u2019s plenty you may not know about this Ohio native. Here\u2019s 5 facts about Nikki Glaser.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nikki Glaser is a stand-up comedian and host<\/h2>\n

She started performing stand-up at the age of 18. Glaser has performed stand-up on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno<\/i>,\u00a0Conan<\/i>, and two seasons of\u00a0Last Comic Standing.<\/i>\u00a0She also\u00a0hosts Comedy Central\u2019s \u201cYou Up With Nikki Glaser,\u201d which airs daily on SiriusXM. She was the host of the television series Not Safe with Nikki Glaser<\/i>, which premiered on Comedy Central in 2015. Glaser was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and earned a degree in English Literature at the University of Kansas.<\/p>\n

Nicole Rene Glaser was born June 1, 1984 to parents Julie<\/strong> and Edward J. Glaser <\/strong>in Cincinnati, Ohio. She later moved to St. Louis, Missouri where she attended Kirkwood High School. She continued her post secondary studies at the University of Colorado Boulder, transferring to the the University of Kansas where she graduated with a degree in English Literature.<\/p>\n

She was on \u2018Dancing With The Stars\u2019<\/h2>\n

Nikki competed on season 27 of\u00a0DWTS <\/em>with her pro partner,\u00a0Gleb Savchenko<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>\u2014 but almost didn\u2019t do the show! \u201cI had a little bit of a hesitation and I hung up the phone and I was like, \u2018Let me think about it,’\u201d she said in a video promoting Dancing with the Stars<\/em>. \u201cThen I was telling a friend and she was like, \u2018Think about the outfits!\u2019 And, I go, \u2018I\u2019m doing it!\u2019 Because when else am I going to get to wear this? It\u2019s so fun,\u201d she added. Glaser also admitted that she ultimately chose to part of the show because it\u2019s something she wouldn\u2019t typically do for fear of caring what others think.<\/p>\n

\u201cI said \u2018yes\u2019 because I\u2019m 34 and I\u2019m tired of caring what people think,\u201d she said in a video promoting the show. \u201cThis show to me is only scary because I would care what people thought of me. I\u2019m tired of being a woman who cares what other women or other men think about my looks, about my talent, or skills. It is \u00a0a waste of time. I\u2019m doing the thing i\u2019m worst and I don\u2019t care what you say I\u2019m just going to have fun. So, if I can do this then literally I can do anything, I believe that, because this is scary for me,\u201d she also revealed. Unfortunately for Nikki, she was the first eliminated from the competition.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s a Dog Mom<\/h2>\n

Nikki regularly posts photos of her adorable dogs<\/a> to the \u2018gram, proving she\u2019s devoted to her sweet pets! She even revealed she was fostering one<\/a> back in 2017 that she still appears to have. Her parents \u2014 particularly dad Edward \u2014 also seems to be close with the four-legged family members. In a photo back in January, she was all-smiles as she snuggled the two pups on a couch. \u201cDeadbeat dog mom,\u201d she joked in the caption.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s an Actress<\/h2>\n

In addition to her wildly successful career as a stand up comic and podcast host, she has appeared in several movies \u2014 including Trainwreck <\/em>with Amy Schumer<\/strong><\/a>. Nikki played the role of Lisa in the comedy, which also included a cameo from John Cena<\/strong><\/a>. She\u2019s also\u00a0appeared on MTV shows such as Money from Strangers<\/i>, Awkward. After Show. You\u2019re Welcome.<\/i>, and Failosophy<\/i>.<\/p>\n
