The Spanish manager pointed out that his players have made requests for him to make some signings to help them in January.<\/p>\n<p>Manchester City have been ravaged by injuries this campaign and look set to fail to defend the Premier League title they have won four times in succession. The Cityzens lost Oscar Bobb in the summer to a broken leg, followed by an ACL injury to 2024 Ballon d&#8217;Or winner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/player\/rodrigo-hernandez\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">Rodri<\/a>. There have been several other injuries at various points this season, leaving Guardiola&#8217;s side threadbare.<\/p>\n<p>Pep Guardiola revealed to Prime Video Sport ahead of his side facing Everton in their Boxing Day early kickoff clash that plans are being made to sign new players. The manager revealed that the members of the squad also requested him for new players be added in the January transfer window.<\/p>\n<p><template id=\"also-read-articles-template\"><\/p>\n<p><\/template><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIf we can, we have to add players in January\u2026 definitely! We struggled especially at the back, in the middle. I think even the players asked ourselves\u2026 we are going to add some players?! Please!\u201d.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Manchester City were mostly inactive in terms of incomings in the summer transfer window, signing only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/player\/ilkay-gundogan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">Ilkay Gundogan<\/a> and Savinho. This was despite the sales of Julian Alvarez, Sergio Gomez, Joao Cancelo, and a number of other youngsters.<\/p>\n<p>Pep Guardiola&#8217;s side have lacked the depth that made them such a force in the Premier League this season, causing a dismal run of form. The Cityzens have won just one of their last 12 games across all competitions, losing nine times in that run.<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<h2>Pep Guardiola without quintet as Manchester City set for Everton test<\/h2>\n<p>Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been left with a thin squad once again ahead of facing Everton in the Premier League. The Cityzens are without five senior players for the Boxing Day clash at the Etihad Stadium, with several youngsters named on the bench.<\/p>\n<p>Goalkeeper <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/player\/ederson-moraes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">Ederson<\/a>, defenders John Stones and Kyle Walker, and midfielders Jack Grealish and Matheus Nunes are all conspicuously absent from the matchday squad for the Cityzens. This group joins the likes of Ruben Dias, Rodri, and Oscar Bobb, who were already sure to miss the game through injury.<\/p>\n<p>17-year-old academy goalkeeper Spike Brits is one of two goalkeepers on the bench alongside Scott Carson, while the likes of Divin Mubama, Max Alleyne, Jahmai Simpson-Pusey, and Nico O&#8217;Reilly are on the bench.
