Callum Turner<\/strong>\u00a0is a British actor and model with an impressive resume. And according to a new report, he\u2019s now also dating Barbie<\/em> actress and Grammy winning <\/a>songstress Dua Lipa<\/a><\/strong>. Page Six<\/em> reported on January 11, 2024, that the pair were spotted dancing at an afterparty in Los Angeles on January 10 following the premiere of Callum\u2019s Masters of The Air<\/em><\/a>. A source reportedly confirmed to the outlet that they are dating. \u201cIt\u2019s new, but they\u2019re mad about each other,\u201d the insider divulged to the outlet.<\/p>\n

The source also explained why Dua was by his side for the big event. \u201cShe was at the premiere to support him,\u201d they reportedly said<\/a>.\u00a0Amid the rumored new romance, here are five things to know about Callum.<\/p>\n

He Started His Career as a Model<\/h2>\n

Callum, a Chelsea, London native, began his career as a professional model back in 2010. According to his Wikipedia page, he represented brands including Reebok and Next before launching a career in acting. In 2011, he became the face of a Burberry campaign, appearing alongside fellow British actors Eddie Redmayne<\/strong><\/a> and Emma Watson<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

In fact, he recently shared that when he worked as a model in Japan, he adhered to a strict diet that earned him a bizarre nickname \u2014 \u201cMaguro man.\u201d \u201cIt means tuna man!\u201d he explained in a January 2024 interview with the Independent<\/em><\/a>. \u201cI had this one sushi place I went to everyday, I\u2019d walk in and the chef would say, \u2018maguro man\u2019, because all I\u2019d have for lunch is six pieces of tuna.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also explained why he took to the strict diet. \u201cI had to lose loads of weight,\u201d he confessed. \u201cIt was hard, but I did it. I can be very militant with my mind.\u201d<\/p>\n

Callum has no problem matching Dua\u2019s high-profile gig in the Barbie<\/em> movie \u2014 he\u2019s appeared in dozens of distinguished projects as well. Among them are the George Clooney<\/strong>-directed\u00a0The Boys in the Boat <\/em>(2023,) Emma<\/em> (2020) alongside Anya Taylor-Joy<\/strong><\/a>, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore<\/a>\u00a0<\/i>(2022) and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald<\/em> (2018) alongside Eddie Redmayne, and many more.<\/p>\n

Callum also has a solid career in TV. Most recently, he appeared in Masters of the Air<\/em>, and in 2016, he co-starred in a TV version of War & Peace<\/em>.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s Been Open About His Past as an \u2018Addict\u2019<\/h2>\n

Callum opened up about his past addiction to marijuana in an extremely candid 2020 interview. \u201cI was a big stoner,\u201d he told the Independent<\/em><\/a> at the time. \u201cI used to smoke so much weed. I was dealing with a depression or a frustration, and not having the understanding or the tools to deal with how I felt, so I self-medicated for too long.\u201d<\/p>\n

He elaborated, admitted that he\u2019d lost years of his life to the habit. \u201cI was acting, doing films, and smoking weed every day,\u201d he told the outlet. \u201cI never smoked on set but as soon as I got home, I was like a real addict. I definitely missed four years of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also explained how he stopped his weed habit with a \u201ccompassion and love\u201d for himself, along with a strong \u201cdetermination to change and not miss my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

He Dated Actress Vanessa Kirby<\/h2>\n

Though Callum seems to have kept his personal life close to the vest, he did have a long-term romance with Napoleon<\/em> and The Crown<\/em><\/a> actress Vanessa Kirby<\/strong><\/a>. According to the UK Sun<\/em><\/a>, the duo dated for four years and split in 2020. Sources told the outlet that the British actors fizzled out due to long periods apart during filming.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s a Former Athlete Who Left School at 16<\/h2>\n

Callum admitted that he liked school, but only its social aspects. He told the Independent<\/em> in 2020 that he ultimately dropped out at 16 because at the time, he had athletic aspirations, opting instead to play for a semi pro football team. \u201cI was naughty, but within reason,\u201d he said of his time as a student. \u201cI wasn\u2019t mean, but I was a bit of a class clown. I was in all the lowest sets, but not because I couldn\u2019t do it \u2013 because I didn\u2019t want to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of his time as an athlete, he said, \u201cThey gave us a tiny bit of money to play. At the time I thought I was like a multi-millionaire \u2013 \u2018Only done a week, killing it!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Ultimately, he didn\u2019t continue on that path. \u201cI\u2019m not a professional athlete,\u201d he confessed. \u201cVery simple. I was incredibly dedicated, I just wasn\u2019t a footballer<\/a>.\u201d He also admitted to deep disappointment, saying it took him \u201cabout nine years\u201d to accept he wouldn\u2019t be a pro football player.<\/p>\n
