Matilda Saga Albertina Djerf,<\/strong> co-founder of fashion brand Djerf Avenue, was accused of perpetuating a toxic workplace. The 27-year-old influencer was named in an expos\u00e9 by Aftonbladet.<\/em> The Swedish publication interviewed multiple current and former Djerf Avenue staff members, all of whom alleged bullying, favoritism and body-shaming from Matilda\u2019s company. In response to the news, Djerf Avenue broke its silence in a statement.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is ongoing work, and this year, we\u2019ve made some important changes to improve the work culture at Djerf Avenue,\u201d a statement from the brand read, obtained by The Cut<\/em><\/a>. \u201cAmongst other things, we have hired a more experienced management team, we have introduced monthly anonymous surveys to collect feedback and take action, we have also set up an external organizational psychologist to access our workplace. Find out what happened and see her response, below.<\/p>\n Matila is a Swedish influencer and businesswoman who co-founded Djerf Avenue with her boyfriend, Rasmus Johansson.\u00a0<\/strong>Johansson reportedly serves as the CEO of the brand.<\/p>\n Multiple former and current employees of Matilda\u2019s company depicted a toxic workplace in an expos\u00e9 published by Aftonbladet.<\/em><\/a> Some staffers claimed they lost sleep, suffered panic attacks and returned home crying from work some days, per Fast Company<\/a><\/em>. One former staffer accused Matilda of \u201c[yelling] at us\u201d and \u201c[calling] us names.\u201d Another person claimed that Matilda would be angry \u201cif there was no coffee,\u201d \u201cif someone was sitting in the wrong seat,\u201d or \u201cif her food hadn\u2019t been heated up\u201d for her. A separate person claimed that Matilda had her own personal toilet in the office, and when someone accidentally used it, another employee had to \u201cscrub the toilet before Matilda could use it again.\u201d<\/p>\n One accuser even told Aftonbladet<\/em> that the workplace at Djerf Avenue was \u201cpsychological terror.\u201d<\/p>\n Djerf Avenue brought in around $35 million in revenue, according to BBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<\/blockquote>\n
