The tear can be partial (some fibers in the ligament are torn) or complete (the ligament is torn into two pieces). A ligament is a tough band of tissue that connects one bone to another bone or holds organs in place.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n According to CBS Sports<\/a><\/em>, Montgomery underwent exams on December 16, 2024, the day after his injury. The severity of the tear suggests he may miss the remainder of the season. According to <\/span>USA Today<\/span><\/a><\/em>, the player is expected to undergo knee surgery in the near future.<\/span><\/p>\n The timeline for Montgomery\u2019s return is still unclear.
