On December 11, 2024, hundreds of thousands of Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp users reported issues loading the apps.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-3\">In a statement obtained by PIX11, a spokesperson for Meta acknowledged, \u201cWe\u2019re aware that a technical issue is impacting some users\u2019 ability to access our apps. We\u2019re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and apologize for any inconvenience.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Is Facebook Down?<\/h2>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-4\">Yes, Facebook is currently down at the time of publication. Users have reported seeing a notification that read, \u201cSomething went wrong. We\u2019re working on getting fixed as soon as we can,\u201d while trying to post new content.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-5\">According to <a href=\"https:\/\/downdetector.com\/status\/facebook\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\">DownDetector<\/a>, more than 100,000 reports flooded in by 1:00 p.m. ET about Facebook issues.<\/p>\n<h2>Is Instagram Down?<\/h2>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-6\">Yes, Instagram is still experiencing issues for some users. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/downdetector.com\/status\/instagram\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\">DownDetector<\/a>, more than 70,000 Instagram users reported problems with the platform after 11:00 a.m. ET on December 11.<\/p>\n<h2>Is WhatsApp Down?<\/h2>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-7\">WhatsApp users reported issues loading the app. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/downdetector.com\/status\/whatsapp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\">DownDetector<\/a>, more than 12,000 people claimed they were having problems with the platform after 11:00 a.m. ET that day.
