Jamie Foxx\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>is addressing his health once again. During his new Netflix special, What Had Happened Was<\/em>, the actor revealed that he experienced a brain bleed that led to a stroke. While breaking down the events for his audience, Jamie also got emotional while recalling being unconscious for around 20 days.<\/p>\n

\u201cApril 11, I was having a bad headache, and I asked my boy for Aspirin. I realized quickly that when you\u2019re in a medical emergency, your boys don\u2019t know what the f**k to do,\u201d Jamie joked before explaining that the doctor told him he \u201cmay be able to make a full recovery, but it\u2019s going to be the worst year of his life.\u201d Jamie then acknowledged, \u201cThat\u2019s what it was.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jamie was admitted to the emergency room on April 11, 2023, his daughter<\/a>, Corinne, revealed on April 12. \u201cFrom the Foxx family: We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time. As of April 25, 2023, Jamie Foxx was still believed to be in a Georgia hospital due to an undisclosed medical emergency<\/a>, as his daughter explained. It is known that he experienced the medical issue while he was in The Peach State filming his upcoming movie,\u00a0Back in Action,<\/em> but was not on set, per\u00a0CNN<\/em><\/a>. \u00a0\u201cThey are running tests<\/a> and still trying to figure out what exactly happened,\u201d a person close to the\u00a0Just Mercy<\/em> star shared with the outlet on April 14. Back in Action <\/em>co-stars Cameron Diaz<\/strong><\/a>, and it\u2019s her first since she\u00a0retired from acting<\/a> in 2014. He became ill enough to enter the hospital on April 11, but his daughter noted that he began recovering the following day. \u201cHe is healing<\/a>,\u201d a person close to the star claimed to Entertainment Tonight<\/em><\/a> on April 18. \u201cHe feels the love from everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

On April 21st, a source told PEOPLE<\/em><\/a> that he\u2019s \u201cOK\u201d after the incident. \u201cHe\u2019s OK, thank God,\u201d the insider said. \u201cHe\u2019s still in the hospital and doctors are running tests but he\u2019s awake and alert. They\u2019re keeping him under observation.\u201d<\/p>\n

In May 2023, an insider said that the Golden Globe winner was \u201cstable\u201d following a serious situation. \u201cJamie is stable<\/a> and not in a life-threatening situation now,\u201d the insider told PEOPLE <\/em><\/a> two days after Jamie broke his silence on the matter. \u201c[Doctors] are doing more tests and want to be completely sure that he will be okay before allowing him to leave the hospital.\u201d It is important to note that there seems to be a discrepancy between when the source said Jamie was home from the hospital and when his daughter announced he was. <\/span><\/p>\n

Plus, Jamie\u2019s medical team allegedly advised Jamie to \u201ckeep his stress level down\u201d once he is discharged from the hospital. The source claimed that Jamie would rather be anywhere else as the hospital is \u201cthe last place Jamie wants to be.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
