If climate change continues to rapidly weaken the planet\u2019s ocean and land carbon sinks, it will be even more difficult to avoid dangerous levels of warming.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newscientist.com\/article\/mg26335040-100-how-climate-change-has-pushed-our-oceans-to-the-brink-of-catastrophe\/\">ocean currently absorbs<\/a> a quarter of the world\u2019s CO2 emissions from the atmosphere each year.
