The model, dancer and actor \u2014 who rose to prominence after landing a role in Christopher Nolan<\/strong>\u2018s Oscar-winning film Oppenheimer<\/em><\/a> \u2014 recently revealed they are trans masculine non-binary. Fans are now curious to learn more about the talented actor, their rise in Hollywood and more.<\/p>\n

Hollywood Life<\/strong> has five facts about Emma Dumont below.<\/p>\n

Emma Dumont\u2019s Oppenheimer<\/em> Role<\/h2>\n

Emma landed their first film role in True Adolescents<\/em>. After that, the Seattle native went on to star in a handful of movies, including Starving in Suburbia, Inherent Vice, What Lies Ahead<\/em>, 2021\u2019s Wrong Turn<\/em> and Licorice Pizza<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Alongside booking film roles, Emma also landed multiple television roles, including the character Melanie in Boneheads<\/em>, Emma in Aquarius<\/em>, Zoe in T@gged<\/em> and Lorna in The Gifted<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In 2023, Emma starred in Oppenheimer<\/em> as the character Jackie Oppenheimer, who was J. Robert Oppenheimer\u2019s sister-in-law.<\/p>\n

They Studied Ballet Before Acting<\/h2>\n

Before Emma landed back-to-back acting jobs, they started ballet training at the age of 3. Throughout Emma\u2019s childhood, they studied dance at the Pacific Northwest Ballet School, Cornish College of the Arts, Spectrum Dance Theatre School and a few summers at the American Ballet Theatre.<\/p>\n

Emma Identifies as Trans Masculine Non-Binary<\/h2>\n

In December 2024, a rep for Emma explained to TMZ<\/em><\/a>, \u201cThey identify as a trans masculine non-binary person.\u201d<\/p>\n

After their rep confirmed they identify as trans masculine non-binary, the spokesperson added that Emma is going by the name Nick among close friends and family members.<\/p>\n

The Actor Is Keeping Their Professional Name<\/h2>\n

In a statement to TMZ<\/em>, a spokesperson for Emma noted, \u201cTheir work name is still going to be Emma Dumont, but they will go by Nick with friends and family.\u201d<\/p>\n

Therefore, Emma\u2019s name will likely still be credited the same in film and TV roles for now.<\/p>\n
