On November 25, 2024, thousands of Office 365 customers reported loading issues with their email accounts, affecting workers in various industries. As Outlook users wait for an update from the tech company, we\u2019ve got the latest information on the system-wide problem below.<\/p>\n Yes, Outlook is experiencing an outage. Most users had issues loading their email accounts in the morning on November 25. According to Downdetector<\/a>, more than 8,000 Outlook customers reported outages by noon that day. It appears the outage is affecting Outlook users around the U.S., as people from California to Massachusetts reported issues with their accounts.<\/p>\n When trying to refresh their emails on a desktop or on the Outlook app, users saw banners that read \u201cservice unavailable\u201d or \u201cnot found\u201d among other messages. So far, it\u2019s still unclear why customers are having issues. Outlook\u2019s verified X account responded to several online users about the shutdown.<\/p>\n \u201cHello, we\u2019ve started to deploy a fix which is currently progressing through the affected environment,\u201d Outlook\u2019s X account tweeted while replying to a frustrated customer. \u201cWhile this progresses, we\u2019re beginning manual restarts on a subset of machines that are in an unhealthy state.\u201d<\/p>\n In another tweeted reply, Outlook noted that \u201cthe fix has reached approximately 90 percent of the affected environments and our targeted restarts continue to progress.\u201d<\/p>\n According to Deadline<\/em><\/a>, Outlook announced that it \u201cidentified a recent change\u201d as the cause of the outage and that Microsoft started to \u201crevert the change\u201d while \u201cinvestigating what additional actions are required.\u201d<\/p>\n It\u2019s still unclear when Microsoft will be able to restore Outlook for all users. As the company works to identify the problem, users will have to wait.
