Hot on the heels of our scoop<\/a> about a potential closure of Se\u00f1or Frog\u2019s at TI, we got our hands on an internal document confirming the longtime Strip fixture will, in fact, close.<\/p>\n

The last day of operation for Se\u00f1or Frog\u2019s is Dec. 31, 2024.<\/p>\n

The closure of Se\u00f1or Frog\u2019s will affect between 80-100 employees.<\/p>\n

Se\u00f1or Frog\u2019s has hopped the shark.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

An internal missive dated Nov. 21, 2024 from Andrea Aguilar, the Floor Manager at Se\u00f1or Frog\u2019s (on behalf of restaurants management), states: \u201cWhile we are deeply saddened by this decision by ownership to close, we assure you, it was not without a fight for SF [Se\u00f1or Frog\u2019s] Las Vegas. Unfortunately, there were extenuating circumstances that the owners were not able to stay open. Although this is the decision, we will operate as normal until our last day and we will give our fullest energy to closing out a successful operation with you, our Se\u00f1or Frog\u2019s family.\u201d<\/p>\n

Se\u00f1or Frog\u2019s will host a \u201cbreakfast celebration\u201d for its employees on Nov. 26, 2024.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll be curious to see if Se\u00f1or Frog\u2019s can pull off its promise of operating normally as the likelihood of staff bailing for other gigs seems high. Props to giving these folks some time to look (whether than waiting until the last possible minute), as job openings can be tough to find during the slow season in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

The shuttering of Se\u00f1or Frog\u2019s will leave a big swath of prime TI frontage available for lease by another enterprise.<\/p>\n

Anyone taking over the space is going to have a hefty initial investment, as the restaurant\u2019s facade is distinctive and very visible.<\/p>\n

As we\u2019ve shared previously, Se\u00f1or Frog\u2019s was listed for lease prior to any announcement it would close (the announcement still hasn\u2019t been made officially, and TI has been quiet on the matter), an unusual situation.<\/p>\n

Despite what would appear to be a prime location, Se\u00f1or Frog\u2019s hasn\u2019t done particularly well financially.<\/p>\n

In recent years, Se\u00f1or Frog\u2019s veered from its original concept, becoming more of a nightclub than a restaurant.<\/p>\n

Like everything in Las Vegas, it was too loud, and those \u201cextenuating circumstances\u201d mentioned in the internal memo probably involved a little something called \u201cnot making money.\u201d<\/p>\n

In Las Vegas, when one venue goes under, another springs up to take its place. We\u2019ll see who has deep enough pockets to make a go of the Se\u00f1or Frog\u2019s.<\/p>\n

You have until the end of 2024 to visit Se\u00f1or Frog\u2019s again, although, why you\u2019d do that, we aren\u2019t sure. We recommend its sister venue (both are owned by Grupo Anderson\u2019s), Carlos\u2019n Charlie\u2019s at Flamingo. And not just because they put us on the menu, probably.<\/p>\n

As one last knee to the nads, Se\u00f1or Frog\u2019s has instituted a concession fee (CNF charge<\/a>). Demand it be removed.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll let you know what\u2019s next for the Se\u00f1or Frog\u2019s space at TI as soon as a deal is finalized.<\/p>\n
