Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs<\/strong><\/a> is currently awaiting trial for sex trafficking-related charges<\/a>. The record exec and rapper \u2014 who also went by the names P. Diddy, Puffy and Puff Daddy over the years of his music career \u2014 was indicted in September 2024 after feds commenced an investigation against him. So, how long could he serve time in prison?<\/p>\n Hollywood Life<\/strong> has compiled all the details about Diddy\u2019s possible prison sentence, below.<\/p>\n It\u2019s unclear what Diddy\u2019s sentencing is at the time of publication; his trial is scheduled to take place on May 5, 2025, according to the Associated Press<\/a>. Former\u00a0New York City prosecutor and criminal defense attorney Paul Callan told Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> that a sentence \u201cof 10 to 20 years\u201d is \u201clikely\u201d if Diddy is convicted.<\/p>\n \u201cGiven the severity of the charges, a lengthy jail sentence is a virtual certainty if he is convicted,\u201d Callan told the publication in September 2024. \u201cIf convicted, he can expect to spend most of his remaining life behind bars. Federal prosecutors generally obtain guilty pleas or convictions after trial in more than 90% of the cases they bring.\u201d<\/p>\n Callan added that prosecutors \u201cpresented a strong case to both federal judges that Combs was likely to flee and\/or threaten witnesses in the case if released.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIn such cases, the federal courts will sustain pretrial incarceration,\u201d he added. \u201cThe lower court decision can be appealed but I believe a reversal of the lower court order is unlikely.\u201d<\/p>\n Diddy is behind bars at MDC Brooklyn because he was indicted for multiple charges related to racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution.<\/p>\n According to the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office<\/a>, Combs was accused of running a \u201ccriminal enterprise\u201d to \u201cfacilitate his abuse and exploitation of women\u201d from 2008 to the present. Furthermore, Diddy allegedly\u00a0\u201ccommitted crimes including sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery and obstruction of justice.\u201d<\/p>\n Diddy pleaded not guilty to the charges.<\/p>\n Diddy\u2019s Miami and Los Angeles properties were raided<\/a> by Homeland Security in mid-2024.
