On our recent podcast (yes, we have a podcast<\/a>), we shared a list of \u201c12 Things That Aren\u2019t Happening With the A\u2019s, Bally\u2019s Corp. and Trop Site.\u201d<\/p>\n

We felt compelled to compile this list because of the confusing news coverage around this subject. By \u201cconfusing,\u201d of course, we mean \u201ccompletely wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n

We are here to help. The A\u2019s hypothetical move to Las Vegas and the fantastic (the \u201cremote from reality\u201d kind) plan for Bally\u2019s Corp. to build a resort on the Tropicana site are elements of what is unfolding as the biggest debacle in the history of Las Vegas. Gird.<\/p>\n

We should say up front that the gems we\u2019re about to share aren\u2019t guesses or speculation.\u00a0They\u2019re conclusions based upon the facts as they exist today, along with myriad conversations with experts in the areas of sports, finance and the hotel-casino business.<\/p>\n

Our conclusions are also informed by more than a decade of calling out bullshit about Las Vegas projects with no basis in reality, including All Net Resort & Arena<\/a> (which duped politicians and the public for a decade, largely because local media was utterly useless), Alon<\/a>, Bleutech Park<\/a>, the Skyvue observation wheel<\/a>, King David Hotel<\/a> and many others.<\/p>\n
