President Joe Biden<\/strong><\/a> recently made a comment that has sparked debate among voters. While responding to comedian Tony Hinchcliffe<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s statement about Puerto Rico<\/a> at Donald Trump<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s Madison Square Garden rally, Biden, 81, retorted by using the word \u201cgarbage,\u201d but it confused viewers. So, who was Biden calling \u201cgarbage?\u201d<\/p>\n During a call organized by the group Voto Latino on Tuesday October 29, Biden referred to Hinchcliffe\u2019s comment about Puerto Rico, which he called a \u201cfloating island of garbage.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cJust the other day, a speaker at his rally called Puerto Rico a floating island of garbage,\u201d Biden said,\u201d per the Associated Press<\/a>. \u201cWell, let me tell you something, I don\u2019t \u2014 I don\u2019t know the Puerto Rican that I know, the Puerto Rico where I\u2019m fr \u2014 in my home state of Delaware. It\u2019s totally contrary to everything we\u2019ve done, everything we\u2019ve been.\u201d<\/p>\n Based on his comment, Biden appeared to call Trump\u2019s supporters \u201cgarbage.\u201d However, the president clarified what he meant in a follow-up statement.<\/p>\n \u201cEarlier today, I referred to the hateful rhetoric about Puerto Rico spewed by Trump\u2019s supporter at his Madison Square Garden rally as garbage \u2014 which is the only word I can think of to describe it,\u201d Biden tweeted. \u201cHis demonization of Latinos is unconscionable. However, Hinchcliffe did, and made another derogatory comment about Latinos, claiming that they \u201clove making babies.\u201d<\/p>\n When questioned about his guest speaker\u2019s racist commentary, Trump responded, \u201cI don\u2019t know him.
