Everyone stay calm! Spider-Man 4<\/em> is happening. Spider-Man 4<\/em> was almost a sure thing after the mega-success of Spider-Man: No Way Home<\/em><\/a>. At the premiere of The Crowded Room<\/em><\/a> in June 2023,\u00a0Tom Holland<\/strong><\/a> revealed the current status of Spider-Man 4<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Spider-Man: No Way Home<\/em> was released on December 17, 2021, and made over $1.9 billion at the worldwide box office. The movie is now the 7th highest-grossing movie of all time at the worldwide box office and the 3rd highest-grossing movie of all time at the domestic box office.<\/p>\n

So, what do we know about Spider-Man 4<\/em>? Who is returning? HollywodLife<\/strong> has rounded up all the news you need to know about Spider-Man 4<\/em>.<\/p>\n

What We Know About Spider-Man 4<\/em><\/h2>\n

Tom Holland<\/strong> gave an update about Spider-Man 4<\/em> at the June 1 premiere of this Apple TV+ series The Crowded Room<\/em> and revealed that discussions are in the \u201cvery, very early stages.\u201d<\/p>\n

He told Variety<\/em><\/a>, \u201cI can\u2019t talk about that, but I can say that we have been having meetings. We\u2019ve put the meetings on pause in solidarity with the writers. There\u2019s been multiple conversations had, but at this point, it\u2019s very, very early stages.\u201d<\/p>\n

Producer Amy Pascal<\/strong> revealed at the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse<\/em> premiere in May 2023 that a fourth Spider-Man<\/em> movie is in the works with Tom and Zendaya<\/strong><\/a>, but it\u2019s been delayed due to the writers\u2019 strike. \u201cAre we going to make another movie? Of course, we are,\u201d she told Variety<\/em><\/a>. \u201cWe\u2019re in the process, but the writers\u2019 strike, nobody is working during the strike. We\u2019re all being supporters and whenever they get themselves together, we\u2019ll get started.\u201d<\/p>\n

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige<\/strong> confirmed Spider-Man 4<\/em> ahead of the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania<\/em><\/a>. \u201cAll I will say is that we have the story. We have big ideas for that, and our writers are just putting pen to paper now,\u201d Kevin told EW<\/em><\/a> about the fourth Spider-Man<\/em> film in an interview that was published on February 14, 2023. Kevin didn\u2019t divulge any details about the plot for Spider-Man 4<\/em>, but this is an exciting update nonetheless.<\/p>\n

Amy had previously noted that more Spider-Man<\/em> movies were in the works. \u201cThis is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel \u2013 [this is not] the last Spider-Man movie,\u201d Amy revealed to Fandango<\/em><\/a> while promoting No Way Home<\/em>. \u201cWe are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man<\/em> movie with Tom Holland and Marvel. We\u2019re thinking of this as three films, and now we\u2019re going to go onto the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies.\u201d<\/p>\n

A few weeks after Amy\u2019s Fandango<\/em> interview, Kevin revealed to the New York Times<\/em><\/a>, \u201cAmy and I and Disney and Sony are talking about \u2014 yes, we\u2019re actively beginning to develop where the story heads next, which I only say outright because I don\u2019t want fans to go through any separation trauma like what happened after\u00a0Far From Home. <\/em>That will not be occurring this time.\u201d<\/p>\n

In November 2023, Tom explained to a group of reporters that nothing has been finalized yet, but there have been \u201cconversations\u201d about a fourth movie.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll I can say is that we have been actively engaging in conversations about what it could potentially look like for a fourth rendition of my character,\u201d he said. \u201cWhether or not we can find a way to do justice to the character is another thing. I feel very protective over Spider-Man. I feel very, very lucky that we were able to work on a franchise that got better with each movie, that got more successful with each movie, which I think is really rare, and I want to protect his legacy.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear where Spider-Man 4<\/em> will fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kevin did not reveal in his latest interview if the fourth film would be part of Phase 5 or Phase 6 of the MCU.<\/p>\n

In an interview with\u00a0The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon<\/em><\/a>, Tom confirmed that the cast has a filming date set. He shared, \u201cNext summer, we start shooting. Everything\u2019s good to go. We\u2019re nearly there.\u201d<\/p>\n
