Louis Tomlinson<\/strong><\/a> penned a heart wrenching tribute to Liam Payne<\/strong><\/a> one day after his death<\/a>. While sharing an Instagram<\/a> photo of them together, the former One Direction member<\/a> called the late 31-year-old English vocalist<\/a> a \u201cbrother\u201d and credited him for \u201cshaping\u201d the band.<\/p>\n \u201cI am beyond devastated to be writing this, but yesterday, I lost a brother,\u201d Louis wrote in his caption on Thursday, October 17. \u201cLiam was somebody I looked up to everyday, such a positive, funny, and kind soul. I first met Liam when he was 16 and I was 18. I was instantly amazed by his voice, but more importantly as time went on, I got a chance to see the kind [of] brother I\u2019d longed all my life for.\u201d<\/p>\n Louis added that Liam \u201cwas an incredible songwriter with a great sense of melody\u201d and noted that they \u201coften spoke of getting back in the studio together to try and recreate the writing chemistry [they] had built up in the band.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd for the record, Liam was in my opinion the most vital part of One Direction,\u201d the \u201cWhat Makes You Beautiful\u201d artist continued. \u201cHis experience from a young age, his perfect pitch, his stage presence, his gift for writing. The list goes on. Thank you for shaping us, Liam.\u201d<\/p>\n Before Louis concluded his statement, he wanted to directly send Liam a \u201cmessage,\u201d which was that he feels \u201cbeyond lucky to have had [Liam] in [his] life, but [he is] really struggling with the idea of saying \u2018goodbye.’\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m so grateful that we got even closer since the band, speaking on the phone for hours, reminiscing about all the thousands of amazing memories we had together is a luxury I thought I\u2019d have with you for life,\u201d Louis added. \u201cI would have loved to share the stage with you again, but it wasn\u2019t to be [sic].\u201d<\/p>\n Louis ended his tribute by referring to Liam\u2019s 7-year-old son, Bear<\/strong><\/a>, whom he shared with his ex Cheryl Cole<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI want you to know that if Bear ever needs me, I will be the uncle he needs in his life and tell him stories of how amazing his dad was,\u201d Louis wrote. \u201cI wish I got chance to say \u2018goodbye\u2019 and tell you one more time how much I loved you. Payno, my boy, one of my best friends, my brother, I love you mate. Sleep well X [sic].\u201d<\/p>\n Liam was found dead after falling from the third floor of his Buenos Aires hotel on Wednesday, October 16.
