The A-list actresses will lead Lionsgate\u2019s movie The Housemaid.<\/em> The Euphoria<\/em><\/a> star will play the role of Millie, and the Dropout<\/em> alum will play the character Nina. Sydney recently appeared in the thrillers Immaculate<\/em> and Eden<\/em>, and Amanda led the 2023 series The Crowded Room<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>alongside Tom Holland<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

What Is \u2018The Housemaid\u2019 About?<\/h2>\n

The Housemaid<\/em> follows a struggling young woman named Millie, who gets a fresh start by working as a housemaid for wealthy couple Nina and Andrew. Per the film\u2019s logline, \u201cMillie soon learns the family\u2019s secrets are far more dangerous than her own.\u201d The movie is based on the bestselling book of the same name.<\/p>\n

Lionsgate Motion Picture Group co-president Erin Westerman released a statement to Deadline<\/em><\/a> about the project, which read, \u201cPart of the fun of the book was imagining the cast while we read it, and Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried are perfect for Millie and Nina \u2013 they\u2019re both mysterious, nuanced, and incredibly skilled at becoming characters who don\u2019t reveal everything right away. We\u2019re thrilled to team them with [director] Paul Feig<\/strong>, who we worked with on A Simple Favor<\/em> and its upcoming sequel and has a proven track record of developing stories with dynamic female leads.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the outlet, Adam Fogelson, the chair of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, said in a statement that he\u2019s \u201cthrilled to have The Housemaid<\/em> join our upcoming slate.\u201d<\/p>\n
