\u201cThis has broader implications beyond spicy food,\u201d says Yi Luo<\/a> at East China Normal University. \u201cUnderstanding how positive and negative expectations influence perception can inform approaches in medicine, such as enhancing placebo effects in treatments.\u201d<\/p>\n

Luo and her colleagues recruited 47 volunteers \u2013 roughly half liked spicy foods and half didn\u2019t \u2013 to receive squirts\u2026<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
