While he has not been detained, he addressed the matter in a video posted by the New York Post<\/em><\/a>, stating that he became a \u201ctarget.\u201d He continued,\u00a0\u201cFor months, leaks and rumors have been aimed at me in an attempt to undermine my credibility and paint me as guilty. Just last week, they searched the home of our new police commissioner, looking for documents from 20 years ago.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n If Eric Adams is unable to complete his term as Mayor of New York, Jumaane Williams<\/strong><\/a>, a public advocate, would assume the role of acting mayor.
