Eric Adams<\/strong><\/a> prefers to keep his family out of the spotlight, but his recent indictment<\/a> turned his world upside down. The mayor of New York City is also a father to one child, whom he shares with a former partner. Although Eric is one of the most well-known politicians, his son embarked on a different career.<\/p>\n Eric shares his son, Jordan Coleman<\/strong>, with his ex-girlfriend Chrisena Coleman<\/strong>. The co-parents split when Jordan was a child, and the Democrat eventually moved on with his current partner, Tracey Collins<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n Jordan works as an actor, a filmmaker and a rapper. He previously voiced the character Tyrone in Nickelodeon\u2019s hit children\u2019s animated series The Backyardigans<\/em>. He then wrote, produced and starred in his 2011 film, Payin\u2019 the Price<\/em>.<\/p>\n Per PEOPLE<\/em><\/a>, Jordan previously spoke with The New York Post<\/em> about his career. He told the outlet that his \u201cend goal\u201d was to \u201cbe a filmmaker, whether it\u2019s as a producer, an actor, director or whatever.\u201d However, he also wanted to establish himself as a hip-hop artist, adding,\u00a0\u201cI want to be like Marky Mark turning into Mark Wahlberg<\/strong> <\/a>or Will Smith<\/strong><\/a>, you know what I\u2019m saying?\u201d<\/p>\n Eric and Tracey are not married, but they\u2019ve been together for years. It\u2019s unclear when the couple started dating.<\/p>\n Eric was indicted<\/a> in September 2024 by the federal government. Per CNN<\/a>, the indictment read, \u201cFor nearly a decade, Adams sought and accepted improper valuable benefits, such as luxury international travel, including from wealthy foreign businesspeople and at least one Turkish government official seeking to gain influence over him.\u201d<\/p>\n The mayor was formally charged<\/a> with one count of conspiracy to receive campaign contributions from foreign nationals and commit wire fraud and bribery, one count of wire fraud, two counts of soliciting campaign contributions from foreign nationals and one count of soliciting and accepting a bribe.<\/p>\n Eric, however, denied any wrongdoing in a speech, calling the charges \u201centirely false\u201d and \u201cbased on lies.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIf I\u2019m charged, I know I\u2019m innocent,\u201d he insisted. \u201cI will request an immediate trial so New Yorkers can hear the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n Before his indictment was unsealed, Gracie Mansion<\/a> was raided by federal agents, and they seized Eric\u2019s phone. His attorney<\/a>, Alex Spiro<\/strong><\/a>, pointed out that the mayor would have \u201chappily turned it in.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThey send a dozen agents to pick up a phone when we would have happily turned it in,\u201d the lawyer said. \u201cFederal agents appeared this morning at Gracie Mansion in an effort to create a spectacle (again) and take [Adams\u2019] phone (again).
