Eric Adams<\/strong><\/a>is currently facing legal troubles after indictment<\/a> charges were officially filed on Wednesday, September 25.\u00a0A day later, on Thursday, September 26, the 64-year-old New York City Mayor\u2019s indictment revealed a total of five charges, according to NBC News<\/span><\/i><\/a>. In a video shared on X by the\u00a0<\/span>New York Post<\/span><\/i><\/a>, Adams addressed the situation, stating,\u201cMy fellow New Yorkers, it is now my belief that the federal government intends to charge me with crimes. However, he addressed the situation in a video shared by the\u00a0<\/span>New York Post<\/span><\/i><\/a>\u00a0on X, stating that he had become a \u201ctarget.\u201d He added,\u201c<\/span>For months, leaks and rumors have been aimed at me in an attempt to undermine my credibility and paint me as guilty.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n If Adams is unable to continue in office, Public Advocate Jumaane Williams<\/strong> <\/a>would step in as acting mayor.
