In a clip shared on <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/todayshow\/status\/1839280777323806812?s=46&amp;t=QkJuD9nuMZ7qrAyaxcPLAA\" target=\"_blank\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\" rel=\"noopener\">X<\/a> by <em>Today<\/em>, the 60-year-old expressed her desire to focus on her family, stating, \u201ca new decade of my life lies ahead, and now, my daughters and my mom need and deserve a bigger slice of my time pie.\u201d After several years on the show, the mother of two realized it was time to prioritize her daughters. How did I get this?&#8217;\u201d Hoda said of becoming a parent to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1366027\/this-is-what-hoda-kotb-is-looking-for-in-her-next-life-partner\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\"><em>E News<\/em><\/a>. \u201cI used to feel almost undeserving of it. But I don\u2019t anymore. Something happened within me where I was like, \u2018You know what, I\u2019m worthy of these children, I\u2019m worthy of myself. I\u2019m enough just as I am. I will nurture and love these little girls, as long as God lets me have them for as long as I\u2019ll be here.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-4\">And she\u2019s very much open to adopting another child to expand her brood! Or at least she was toying with the idea in 2020, while she was still engaged to her boyfriend of 9 years, financier <a href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/feature\/who-is-joel-schiffman-3807303\/\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\"><strong>Joel Schiffman<\/strong><\/a>. \u201cWe wondered, you know, would our family be better with another child? Do we have enough love, do we have enough time, you know, will we be a better family unit?\u201d she recalled to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etonline.com\/hoda-kotb-opens-up-about-her-desire-to-adopt-a-3rd-child-exclusive-154741\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\"><em>ET<\/em><\/a>.\u00a0 \u201cAnd the answer to all those questions seems to be \u2018yes, we would be.\u2019 But you can\u2019t control how life works,\u201d she added. \u201cIt\u2019s in God\u2019s hands, it\u2019s not in mine, so if it\u2019s meant to be, we\u2019re happy \u2019cause, you know, we have room and we have love.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-5\">Sadly, Hoda announced she and Joel <a href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/2022\/01\/31\/hoda-kotb-fiance-joel-schiffman-split-break-up\/\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\">broke off their engagement<\/a> in January 2022. \u00a0\u201cWe decided that we are better as friends and parents than we are as an engaged couple, so we decided that we are going to start this new year on our new path as loving parents to our adorably delightful children\u00a0and as friends,\u201d Hoda said on the third hour of\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/TAG\/TODAY\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\">Today<\/a>. <\/em>It remains to be seen if Hoda\u2019s two daughters will still end up with another sibling, but drama did rock the family in February of 2023 when Hoda disappeared from <em>the Today Show<\/em>, later to reveal that her youngest daughter <strong>Hope<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/2023\/06\/06\/hoda-kotb-first-photo-daughter-hope-hospitalization\/\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\">had been hospitalized<\/a>. Hoda went on to talk about the sweet moment Hayley found out that she was a big sister. \u201cWe had Hayley downstairs, and\u00a0Joel and I were like, \u2018Wait; we have a present!\u2019 So we went upstairs, and came down holding her. And we have been telling her \u2018baby Hope is coming.\u2019 She literally walked up to her, looked up at her, and she goes, \u2018Hope.\u2019 It was like one of those moments,\u201d Hoda explained.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-13\">She also explained how she chose the moniker, claiming she <em>hoped<\/em>, prayed, and dreamed about having another child.
