Hoda then reflected on her decades-long career with NBC, recalling her 10 years at Dateline<\/em> before joining TODAY<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy time at NBC has been the longest professional love affair of my life,\u201d she continued. \u201cBut only because you\u2019ve been beside me on this 26-year adventure. Looking back, the math is nuts. Twenty-six years at NBC News \u2014 Ten years at Dateline<\/em>, seven on the seven o\u2019clock hour, sixteen on the ten o\u2019clock hour.\u201d<\/p>\n

In her letter, Hoda revealed that she had been \u201cweighing this decision for quite a while\u201d to leave the show. The television anchor cited her 60th birthday celebration as a \u201cshift\u201d and noted that she wants to spend more time with her children, Haley Joy and Hope Catherine<\/a>, whom she shares with ex Joel Schiffman<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI saw it all so clearly: my broadcast career has been beyond meaningful, a new decade of my life lies ahead, and now, my daughters and my mom need and deserve a bigger slice of my time pie,\u201d Hoda explained. \u201cI will miss you all desperately, but I\u2019m ready and excited.\u201d<\/p>\n
