Olivia Munn<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0John Mulaney<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0have welcomed their second child\u2014a daughter!<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Sept. 22, the actress, 44, and the comedian, 42, shared photos of their new baby girl, M\u00e9i June Mulaney<\/strong><\/a>, on social media. She joins their son, Malcolm Hi\u1ec7p Mulaney<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

While the addition of their daughter is a joyous occasion for the couple, this year has been challenging for Munn. She revealed her breast cancer<\/a> diagnosis on March 13 via Instagram<\/a>, aiming to offer comfort and support to others facing similar struggles. Following her diagnosis, Munn underwent a double mastectomy and a hysterectomy as part of her treatment. Despite these difficulties, the couple, who began dating in 2021, celebrated their love with a beautiful wedding<\/a> in July during an intimate ceremony at a friend\u2019s home in New York state. According to a source for PEOPLE, the only attendees were their son, Malcolm, and a witness to sign their marriage license.<\/p>\n

Malcolm Hi\u1ec7p Mulaney<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The couple\u2019s first child was born on November 24, 2021. Mulaney shared the news on Instagram<\/a>, writing, \u201cMeet Malcolm Hi\u1ec7p Mulaney. He has his whole life ahead of him. He hasn\u2019t even tried seltzer yet. I\u2019m very in love with him and his whole deal. Happy Holidays.\u201d<\/p>\n

Munn also shared an Instagram<\/a> post welcoming their son, captioning it, \u201cMy Golden Ox baby. Malcolm Hi\u1ec7p Mulaney. Happy Holidays. \u2764\ufe0f\ud83d\udc9a\u201d<\/p>\n

Munn later explained in an Instagram Story that Malcolm\u2019s name holds special significance. When Malcolm was five months old, she introduced him to his great uncle, Vinh Hi\u1ec7p Luong<\/strong>, after whom she named him. \u201cMalcolm got to meet his great uncle. His middle name is named after him \ud83d\udc9b,\u201d Munn shared, referring to her uncle as her \u201cfavorite.\u201d She reminisced, \u201cWhenever we got a new belt in Taekwondo, he would buy us banana splits and tell us not to tell our mom.\u201d<\/p>\n

The proud parents have often shared Malcolm\u2019s milestones on social media, celebrating everything from his first words and steps to a particularly exciting moment\u2014his restaurant debut. \u201cCrazy pho you. Malcolm goes to his first restaurant,\u201d Munn captioned an Instagram<\/a> post showing her little one seated on her lap while enjoying pho. Other photos included Mulaney and Munn\u2019s mother, Kim Munn<\/strong>, posing for a group picture with Malcolm.<\/p>\n

Mulaney announced that he and Munn were expecting Malcolm during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers<\/em> in September 2021. \u201cI got into this relationship that\u2019s been really beautiful with someone incredible \u2026 And we\u2019re having a baby together,\u201d he told host Seth Meyers<\/strong> at the time.<\/p>\n

He also expressed gratitude, saying, \u201cOlivia and this baby have helped save me from myself in this early journey out of recovery.\u201d Mulaney had checked himself into rehab in late 2020 after a decades-long struggle with addiction.<\/p>\n

The couple\u2019s second child was born via surrogate on September 14, 2024. \u201cM\u00e9i June Mulaney came into the world September 14, 2024, the year of the dragon,\u201d Munn shared in her Instagram<\/a> post on September 22.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had so many profound emotions about not being able to carry my daughter. When I first met our gestational surrogate, we spoke mother to mother. She showed me so much grace and understanding; I knew I had found a real-life angel. Words cannot express my gratitude that she kept our baby safe for nine months and made our dreams come true.\u201d<\/p>\n

Munn also revealed the meaning behind her daughter\u2019s name: \u201cI am so proud of my little plum, my little dragon for making the journey to be with us. My heart has exploded.\u201d She explained, \u201cM\u00e9i (pronounced may) means plum in Chinese \u6885\ud83d\udc9c.\u201d<\/p>\n

In an interview with Vogue<\/em><\/a>, Munn discussed her experience with fertility, mentioning that she froze her eggs three times\u2014at ages 33, 39, and 42\u2014after her breast cancer diagnosis. She expressed her openness to using a surrogate and her desire to continue growing her family.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you\u2019re pregnant with your own baby, it\u2019s like teamwork\u2014you and the baby working together to make their little life come true,\u201d she said. \u201cWith a surrogate, you have to find someone you trust as much as yourself to live their life as a pregnant woman the same way you would.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis journey has made me realize how grateful I am to have options for not only fighting cancer but also for having more children if we want, because I know a lot of people don\u2019t have those options,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
