In the Marvel comics, the Thunderbolts are a group of antiheroes\/reformed villains who work for the government. Marvel <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/marvelstudios\/status\/1551000955365126149?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\">confirmed<\/a> at San Diego Comic-Con in 2022 that a <em>Thunderbolts\u00a0<\/em>movie was officially in the works. The upcoming film features an all-star cast and will be part of Phase Five of the MCU \u2014 and the latest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=v-94Snw-H4o\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\">trailer<\/a> gave fans a strong sneak peek!<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-3\">The production was put on hold due to the Hollywood strikes in 2023, so the release date was pushed back more than once. The original release date was announced at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2022.<em>\u00a0<\/em>The movie was supposed to begin filming in June 2023, but the crew was told that production would have to wait until the end of the strike, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2023\/05\/marvel-thunderbolts-writers-strike-1235380504\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Deadline<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-6\">The film will be the second-to-last movie released in Phase Five, before <em>Blade\u00a0<\/em>starring <a href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/celeb\/mahershala-ali\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\"><strong>Mahershala Ali<\/strong><\/a>. Marvel Studios President <strong>Kevin Feige\u00a0<\/strong>brought the cast onto the stage to introduce them to the audience. Sebastian made his MCU debut in 2011\u2019s\u00a0<em>Captain America: The First Avengers<\/em>. Since then, he\u2019s appeared in six more films and the miniseries\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/2020\/02\/28\/falcon-and-the-winter-soldier-interview-anthony-mackie-sam-wilson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>The Falcon and the Winter Soldier<\/em><\/a>. At the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, Sebastian gave an update about Thunderbolts. \u201cI\u2019m excited. I\u2019m going to go back basically in a month or so. I\u2019ve missed it. Thunderbolt is a US military officer who was previously played by <strong>William Hurt<\/strong>. His most famous movie is 2015\u2019s\u00a0<em>Paper Towns<\/em>. <strong>Eric Pearson<\/strong> is writing the screenplay, having done so previously for\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/2017\/11\/02\/where-is-jane-thor-ragnarok-natalie-portman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\">Thor: Ragnarok<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Black Widow<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h2>Production Trivia<\/h2>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-14\">Kevin Feige\u00a0revealed at D23 that<i> Thunderbolts <\/i>was supposed to start filming in early 2023, but the film\u2019s production has been pushed to mid to late 2023. <strong>David Harbour<\/strong> revealed that he\u2019ll be filming <em>Thunderbolts\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/feature\/stranger-things-5-4741342\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\"><em>Stranger Things <\/em>season 5<\/a>\u00a0at the same time. \u201cIt\u2019s going to have to be a back-and-forth with me. They\u2019re going to have to sort of share me,\u201d he told <a href=\"https:\/\/collider.com\/david-harbour-stranger-things-season-5-thunderbolts-filming-schedule\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\"><em>Collider<\/em><\/a>. \u201cAnd so it is kind of like, I don\u2019t know exactly how they\u2019re working it, but it\u2019s a week on, week off, two weeks on, two weeks off, something like that where I would go back and forth.\u201d David also revealed that both projects are being shot in Atlanta, which helps his hectic schedule.<\/p>\n<h2>What We Know About The \u2018Thunderbolts\u2019 Plot<\/h2>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-15\">When Marvel revealed\u00a0<em>Thunderbolts<\/em>, they also unveiled the brief plot description. It reads, \u201cA group of antiheroes goes on missions for the government.\u201d That\u2019s on par with the Thunderbolts\u2019 story in the Marvel comic books. And I think it\u2019s fun to watch us just mess everything up,\u201d the actor said. \u201cI think that\u2019s the spectrum. I think it\u2019s very funny, but there\u2019s also a lot of pathos in that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-17\">David continued, \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of drama in a bunch of people who just keep getting their lives wrong \u2014 because of character flaws, keep messing things up.
