Olivia Nuzzi<\/strong> has made headlines over rumors about an alleged relationship between her and Robert F. Kennedy Jr<\/strong>. Although the journalist has not directly referred to RFK, Olivia revealed that she had developed a \u201cpersonal\u201d relationship with someone relevant to the 2024 presidential campaign<\/a>. Her acknowledgment resulted in her employer, New York<\/em> magazine, placing her on leave.<\/p>\n

Olivia is a political reporter, who has served as a correspondent for New York<\/em> magazine. The New York City native has written for a variety of publications, including Bloomberg News, The New York Times<\/em> and The Washington Post<\/em>, per her Muck Rack<\/a> profile.<\/p>\n

The Washington D.C. correspondent was also mentioned in Forbes<\/em>\u2018 \u201c30 Under 30\u201d list in 2017.<\/p>\n

In September 2024, Olivia\u2019s employer, New York<\/em> magazine, published a statement<\/a> revealing that Olivia had \u201cacknowledged to the magazine\u2019s editors that she had engaged in a personal relationship with a former subject relevant to the 2024 campaign while she was reporting on the campaign, a violation of the magazine\u2019s standards around conflicts of interest and disclosures.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHad the magazine been aware of this relationship, she would not have continued to cover the presidential campaign,\u201d the publication noted. \u201cAn internal review of her published work has found no inaccuracies nor evidence of bias. She is currently on leave from the magazine, and the magazine is conducting a more thorough third-party review. We regret this violation of our readers\u2019 trust.\u201d<\/p>\n

Were Olivia Nuzzi and RFK Jr. in a Relationship?<\/h2>\n

Although New York<\/em> magazine didn\u2019t reveal whom Olivia had a \u201cpersonal relationship\u201d with, CNN<\/a> reported that it was Robert F. Kennedy Jr<\/strong>. The outlet noted that a \u201cperson with direct knowledge of the matter\u201d insisted that Olivia\u2019s relationship with RFK was \u201cemotional and digital in nature, not physical.\u201d<\/p>\n

In response to the report, a spokesperson for Robert told the outlet that the politician \u201conly met Olivia Nuzzi once in his life for an interview she requested, which yielded a hit piece.\u201d<\/p>\n

In her own statement, Olivia did not disclose the name of the \u201cformer reporting subject\u201d whom she had developed a \u201cpersonal relationship\u201d with.<\/p>\n

\u201cEarlier this year, the nature of some communication between myself and a former reporting subject turned personal,\u201d Olivia explained in her statement. \u201cDuring that time, I did not directly report on the subject nor use them as a source. The relationship was never physical but should have been disclosed to prevent the appearance of a conflict. I deeply regret not doing so immediately and apologize to those I\u2019ve disappointed, especially my colleagues at New York<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Is Olivia Nuzzi Married?<\/h2>\n

Olivia is engaged to her fianc\u00e9, Ryan Lizza<\/strong>, a fellow journalist. He works as the Chief Washington Correspondent for Politico<\/em> and previously worked as a political analyst for CNN.<\/p>\n

In 2017, Ryan was dismissed from The New Yorker<\/em> after he was accused of sexual misconduct. Though he denied any wrongdoing, he was later let go from CNN.<\/p>\n
