Tito Jackson<\/strong><\/a> died at the age of 70<\/a> in September 2024. While his official cause of death has yet to be determined, fans are remembering the late Jackson 5<\/a> band member for his music and personality. Tito\u2019s sons, Taj, Taryll and TJ confirmed the news of their father\u2019s death in a statement. Tito shared his children with his ex-wife,\u00a0Delores Martes \u201cDee Dee\u201d Jackson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s with heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved father, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tito Jackson is no longer with us,\u201d the 3T bandmates wrote in an Instagram<\/a> statement. \u201cWe are shocked, saddened and heartbroken. Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their well-being. Some of you may know him as Tito Jackson from the legendary Jackson 5, some may know him as \u2018Coach Tito\u2019 or some know him as \u2018Poppa T.\u2019 Nevertheless, he will be missed tremendously. It will forever be \u2018Tito Time\u2019 for us. Please remember to do what our father always preached and that is \u2018Love One Another.\u2019 We love you, Pops.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tito and his sons went through the worst when Delores died in 1994. Although her death was initially ruled accidental, it was later ruled a murder.<\/p>\n

Who Was Tito Jackson\u2019s Wife?<\/h2>\n

Delores became known as \u201cDee Dee\u201d during her marriage to Tito. She met Tito at Fairfax High School in Los Angeles, and they got married after graduation. They later welcomed their three sons, Taj, Taryll and TJ.<\/p>\n

During a previous interview on ABC\u2019s 20\/20<\/em><\/a>, Tito describe his former wife as outgoing when they first met. In one specific memory, the \u201cI\u2019ll Be There\u201d artist recalled Dee Dee running up to wish him a \u201cHappy Birthday,\u201d and she \u201cgave [him] a kiss on the cheek.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although she was the confident one in their relationship, Dee Dee was also a dedicated mom. Since her ex-husband was busy with his music career, she spent most of her time at home with their children.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey (the Jackson 5) would go on tour. So, a lot of times, it was us three and mom at home,\u201d Taryll said during the 20\/20<\/em> interview. \u201cI think my mom knew that it was not gonna be a quote-unquote normal life so she made it as normal as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

What Happened to Tito\u2019s Wife Dee Dee?<\/h2>\n

Following her divorce from Tito, Dee Dee began dating her boyfriend, Don Bohana<\/strong>, in 1993. In August 1994, Delores died at the age of 39. Don called 911 to report that Dee Dee had drowned, but Tito and his sons doubted Don\u2019s claims. In 1998, Don was found guilty of second-degree murder for her death.<\/p>\n

During the Jackson family\u2019s 20\/20<\/em> interview in 2017, Tito called his former wife\u2019s death the \u201ccoldest day of [their] lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey (his sons) said, \u2018Mom is dead,’\u201d Tito recalled. \u201cIt was just a sad moment, you know. It was just horrifying.\u201d<\/p>\n

Was Tito Jackson Married When He Died?<\/h2>\n

Following his split from Dee Dee, Tito never remarried. The late \u201cI Want You Back\u201d artist kept his dating life away from the public eye.<\/p>\n
