That casino cafe you never went to is closing.<\/p>\n

Avenue Cafe, possibly with an accent mark over the \u201ce,\u201d at MGM Grand will close permanently after business on Nov. 17, 2024.<\/p>\n

According to a news release, \u201cThe venue will transition into a new food and beverage concept with an anticipated opening in February 2025.\u201d<\/p>\n

That\u2019s pretty much the whole story. Granted, we probably should\u2019ve put \u201cstory\u201d in quotation marks.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s worth noting the adjacent Starbucks has closed. Well, possibly \u201cworth noting.\u201d Slow news day.<\/p>\n

While we don\u2019t know what\u2019s next for the Avenue Cafe space, you can rest assured it will be interactive and immersive.<\/p>\n

Avenue Cafe wasn\u2019t really on anyone\u2019s radar, and the restaurant only operated for breakfast and lunch, daily from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.<\/p>\n

For those of us who are normal, Avenue Cafe was never open when we were. Who in their right mind gets up at 7:00 a.m.? And who eats breakfast? Unless it\u2019s French toast at midnight. You know, like normal people.<\/p>\n

Casino cafes are supposed to be open 24\/7. That\u2019s what they do. Or did. Thanks for ruining everything, pandemic.<\/p>\n

Since this story is a little thin on details, we asked A.I. to design a new cafe for MGM Grand.<\/p>\n

Come on, MGM, use all the colors. Also, dibs on the roulette table tables.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

It\u2019s unclear if A.I. understands what dice look like, but even humans get pips wrong a lot<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We are sure MGM Resorts will whip up something much less colorful and whimsical for its new restaurant. We\u2019d love to see something with a \u201cwow\u201d factor, but without the quotation marks.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
