Following the Harris-Trump presidential debate on Tuesday, Republican Sen. J.D. Vance<\/strong> of Ohio and Democratic Gov. Tim Walz<\/strong> of Minnesota will face off in a vice-presidential debate hosted by CBS News.<\/p>\n

The event comes just five weeks before voters head to the polls, as the General Election is on Tuesday, Nov. 5.<\/p>\n

Back in August, CBS News extended an invitation to Vance and Walz, proposing four potential debate dates: Sept. 17, Sept. 24, Oct. 1, and Oct. 8\u2014dates they shared on X. Both campaigns soon agreed to the Oct. 1 date.<\/p>\n

\u201cSee you on October 1, JD,\u201d Walz posted on X<\/a>\u00a0on Aug. 14.<\/p>\n

Vance agreed to the date, stating that the \u201cAmerican people deserve as many debates as possible.\u201d However, he also challenged Walz to an additional debate on Sept. 18, which CNN offered to host. Michael Tyler<\/strong>, the communications director for Kamala Harris<\/strong>\u2018 campaign, later told CBS News that Walz would only participate in the Oct. 1 debate.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe debate about debates is over. Donald Trump\u2019s campaign accepted our proposal for three debates \u2014 two presidential and a vice-presidential debate.\u201d<\/p>\n

While it remains unclear if the presidential candidates will face off again, Tyler mentioned that the Trump campaign has agreed to a second presidential debate, though a date or network has not been confirmed.<\/p>\n

During a FOX News interview with commentator Sean Hannity<\/strong> after the presidential debate, Donald Trump<\/strong> stated he\u2019d \u201chave to think about\u201d a second debate \u201cbecause she lost,\u201d but later added, \u201cMaybe if it was on a fair network.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Who are the Moderators?<\/h2>\n

The debate will be moderated by \u201cCBS Evening News\u201d anchor and managing editor Norah O\u2019Donnell<\/strong>, alongside \u201cFace the Nation\u201d moderator and CBS News foreign affairs correspondent Margaret Brennan<\/strong>, as announced by the network last month.<\/p>\n

Where Will It Take Place?<\/h2>\n

The debate is scheduled to occur in New York City, according to CBS News.<\/p>\n
